gah!

20 09 2006

Oh for crying out loud I saw mince pies in Sainsbury’s today – it has riled me somewhat. Partly ‘cos I’m extremely poor and it reminds me that I’ll be even poorer afterwards. But it’s really bloody early, surely? The ’special day’ in question is over 3 MONTHS away!! And it’s on the same day every year so it’s not like many people forget it’s Xmas.

Actually I love Xmas and I love giving people pressies and seeing the look on their face when they get something they never knew they wanted… and of course I’m not averse to receiving gifts… but starting it in september is just going a bit far I think. If I started the windup to my birthday in mid-june I think people would be right in thinking it was a little over the top!

firefly

17 09 2006

Hmm, am slightly concerned today that i may be becoming an uber-geek. don’t get me wrong, I love my geeky side and embrace it till it blushes and drops its NHS glasses, but I am veering into new realms of sadness here. I have been getting really indignant about Firefly having been cancelled. I know it happened about a million years ago, but the more I (re)watch it I just can’t fathom what was wrong with it. The thing that makes this uber-geeky is not watching a TV series set in space but the fact I actually took its cancellation really personally for about 3 whole minutes this afternoon. Before I know it I’ll be turning up at conventions in a brown coat, clad in a leather vest, or dressed up as some exotic space-floozy.

And in tribute to that I post this:
Firefly outtakes

Hilarious!

welcome to the thunderdome

I love this: Death Guild Thunderdome almost makes up for how utterly pants the film was. What I love most though I think is the fact that along with the firedancing, fighting and general pain they advertise, they are also having a raffle. Awww.
